InfoCamere
created and currently operates
the national system linking
Italy's 104 Chambers of Commerce
and 300 branch offices through
a high-speed, high-security
electronic network.
One of InfoCamere's most significant
achievements is the electronic
Business Register, established
in 1993 (implementing specific
legislative provisions). This
distinguishing feature was a
first among European Commerce
Registers. The access to the
information of Business Register
is guaranteed by Telemaco (www.telemaco.infocamere.it).
InfoCamere provides the Chambers
of Commerce with Digital Signature
devices (since April 2000) and
Certified Electronic Mail boxes
(since December 2005) in line
with the legislation in force.
The Chambers of Commerce distribute
these devices and e-mail boxes
to entrepreneurs, professionals,
public administrations and private
citizens throughout the nation.
The company has always been
active in areas that are of
particular importance to the
e-Government programme, such
as the modernisation of government
and the streamlining of bureaucratic
procedures to the benefit of
businesses and citizens.
The company's expertise is available
to the market in the form of
consultancy services for the
creation and up-dating of IT
architecture. InfoCamere also
acts as a Management Service
Provider for the management
and outsourcing of ICT infrastructure.
