S.p.A. is owned by the Ministry
of the Economy and Finance,
and provides ICT solutions and
services to the Italian Tax
Administration.
Established in 1976 with the
mission of setting up a modern
tax system, the company is currently
an important part of the Italian
"tax system" and cooperates
with the Italian Tax Administration
in managing the tax information
system and supplying on-line
services to citizens, businesses,
Regions and local authorities.
The Autonomous Administration
of State Monopolies has assigned
Sogei the task of designing
and implementing groundbreaking
ICT solutions for the supervision
and management of public gaming
which guarantee the utmost security
and transparency for both operators
and players.
Sogei integrated Equitalia information
system and guarantees its day-to
day management in order to streamline
tax fulfillments for taxpayers
and reduce tax collection costs.
Sogei manages the National Health-Card
system, which was designed to
monitor national healthcare
expenditure (which the State
Accountant's Office is ultimately
responsible for) and the Business
Continuity system for the ACI
(Automobile Club d'Italia).
On the R&D front, Sogei takes
part in several EU programmes,
is a member of the Galileo Services
Consortium to implement the
GALILEO European satellite system
and cooperates with the third-level
